This Federation home in Coogee was reworked to create more outdoor space for a growing family. Working with SAHA, Ground Projects removed an existing two-car garage and rebuilt the perimeter wall, reinstating the home’s primary outdoor space as a sun-facing courtyard and covered verandah, now central to the way the family lives day to day.
The original house was left untouched, with all construction taking place from the back door. Rather than adding more to the home, the project focused on removing an existing structure to restore the garden and create a new outdoor space. The new elements were built robustly and with longevity in mind, with extremely considered and beautiful detailing.
